My call is ceramic over glass with a decorated Hard Maple pot. This call is truly one of a kind. The picture of a hen and a strutting tom on the back of this call with a unique border circling it are all hand drawn, wood burnt and colored by me. A wood burnt Bible verse runs around the outside of the pot. This call has a Yellow Heart striker with a Padauk flare. Although the artwork on this call will not be judged, it adds a truly unique one-of-a-kind look.

Division 1
Decorative Turkey Calls

Category 21:
Friction Call Amateur (open)

User entered description: The name of my call is "Can't Never Could". It is a wooden sculpture of a possibles bag with a powder horn, partial box call and a turkey head. All of the pieces are made from wood by me. The slate is located under the end cap of the powder horn which can be easily removed to reveal the slate. The spout end can be pulled out revealing the striker. The powder horn is made of Walnut Burl with Hard Maple accents and wood burnt shading on the spout end (striker handle) along with a wood burnt Bible verse across the body of the horn. The body of the partial box call (non-working) is made of Hard Maple with a Birdseye Maple lid. The turkey head is also carved from Hard Maple and painted. The bag is made from scrap wood I had in the shop, not sure of the wood type. All of this piece was designed, hand drawn, laid out, carved, wood burnt, shaped, painted and finished by me.
