Category 19:
Tongue and Striker

User entered description: This Tongue call was made from a salvaged 36"×36" redwood support beam from the Orth Brewing Co circa 1850 on the banks of the Mississippi Rive just blocks from my home. The Orth Brewing Co later became Grain Belt Beer Brewing company which my family became distributors. When the Grain Belt brewery closed it was gutted and I was able to salvage a huge chunk of that support beam from the original Keg House building which had stood since it's opening in 1850. The redwood is paired with African Wenge wood with an Alaskan yellow cedar striker. The strikers barrel was filled with a 9mm brass and lapis lazuli and turquoise to add weight. The playing surface has a chalkboard paint with requires little to no sanding and no chalk. It plays very easily with little pressure.
