The Pinfeathers Award

Mentor Award

This special stand-alone award is awarded to the best of the new pinfeathers category. So many of our hunting traditions are matured by a simple seed that is planted by a mentor very early in our lives. The relationships with our youth that these mentors make possible are the core of our hunting heritage history and its future as well. These relationships are not always solely formed in the woods while trying to bring in the harvest, sometimes they are made in a grandfather’s wood shop building turkey calls while sharing a few laughs together. This award recognizes and celebrates that connection that is significant to the callmaking tradition between the young callmaker and their mentor.
