Number 92 carved call Hand carved Turkish walnut duck call. Faux ivory inlays carved and scrimshawed The inspiration for this call is remembering my best lab and oldest hunting buddy. Both have left us behind. Ruby was by far the best all around lab that we have had. The carved image is her as an old retired dog . I planned on scrimshawing a picture of my buddy blowing a duck call but decide to just do things on the call that he favored. Dead duck mount, shotguns, duckcalls , hunting the creek bottom in the trees, and the magical pintail drake. He is the one that talked me into making calls back in 2008. If we hunt long enough we all will lose a great dog and a great friend. Hunting changes after the loss but i will push on and try to create memories for the people i leave behind when it's my time to meet my maker.

I made my first duck call in 2008 and I became hooked for life.  Call making has been very rewarding and very frustrating at times.  I learn something new every time I make a call and it pushes me to get creative and learn new techniques. My passion has been to create laminated calls that hold up to every day hunting.  Now my passion has evolved to included metal reed  hand carved and checkered  calls.  The creativity and challenges are worth the effort and I will continue to push my limits with these types of calls.
