Clayborn Dotson is a self taught artist from Williamson WV. He started entering his custom Turkey calls into the NWTF Community in 2006 in Nashville TN and Williamson WV, which he won several awards including The Earl Duckett Award, Best of Show, 1st, 2nd and 3rd. He’s been making custom calls for over 20years! When he’s not spending time with family he will be hunting, drawing, painting, or just being creative. Loves riding his side by side while enjoying nature in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains. You will not meet a more down to earth, respectful, and talented person. Thank You!

The slate call shows the baby Poult resting upon her parent after a busy day, just to watch and learn . Call is constructed from Tupelo, Bocote, Snake wood and Iron wood…. Go to Entry #1437
	Division 1 Decorative Turkey Calls Category 18: Friction Call - open category (other then Category 16 and 17) User entered description: “Mountain Man” 1 of 1 by Clayborn Dotson A very intricate carved and wood burnt Powder Horn which contains a slate call and two strikers hidden within. This Beautifully carved and burnt call depicts an Owl resting on a branch and on the other side the Ole Gobbler. Inside you can find a hidden Tarantula which is one striker. The Stopper displays an impressive Indian with a beautiful headdress. Inside the wide opening where one would refill the gun powder you’ll find a slate call.. All parts are beautifully hand carved, wood burnt, and painted. The call is constructed of Tupelo, black and white ebony, and Antler tip. Go to Entry #1438

The rattlesnake is out on the prowl looking to score a quick and easy meal. He comes upon a nest of Turkey eggs and takes one for his meal. 	Division 3 Decorative Duck and Goose Call Competition Category 7: Decorative Carved Call User entered description: “Marsh Madness” 1 of 1 By: Clayborn Dotson This Beautiful Piece illustrates a frog peeping out from behind the tall grass and cattails. While the dog retrieves the duck from the water. This call is beautifully executed with intricate details. It’s made from White Oak, Merbau customized band, and Black Oak. 	Division 5 Wildlife Art Competition Category 1: Carved or Carved and painted User entered description: “Bird of Paradise” 1 of 1 by Clayborn Dotson This Beautiful piece illustrates a duck that’s detailed and beautifully crafted. The duck sits upon a piece of driftwood made from African Mopani wood. If you slightly turn the ducks leg you will see a small drawer added.
